#BT 102: Leaving a Legacy with Rob Starke – Starke Brews

Greetings one and all. Welcome back to me! Can you believe it’s almost been a year since the last podcast was uploaded. Eish, I do apologise my friends. I think 2022 has just been one of those years where my mind has been focused on other things, still beer things, but not enough on podcasting.

The good news is that I still enjoy #Beertime very much and want to continue with the show for as long as possible. I actually had a moment of self awareness about my show when recording this episode. I realised that I really enjoy speaking to other people whilst drinking a beer, as well as the feeling of believing that I’m good at what I do. So cheers to more episodes of #Beertime.

On with the show and our guest, Mr Rob Starke from Starke Brews, located on a farm about 30 minutes out of Cape Town, near the suburb of Durbanville. His brewery is sometimes referred to as the Aegir of the North, in reference to arguably one of the best craft breweries in South Africa. Starke Brews is one of newest craft breweries in South Africa, but what would surprise you is that they actually planned to open before Covid shut everything up. We go into detail about the trials and tribulations he faced as a one man business, and how something positive grew out of those challenges.

It was a fun show, and like i said earlier, it was great to be behind my recording equipment again. I hope you enjoy the show. Cheers
